The Music course offers students opportunities to further develop their understanding of the language of music. Students can explore their creativity and express themselves in a fun and challenging way, both individually and with other students. Music in Year 8 is open to anyone who wants to continue to explore music through listening, composing and performing. Students will gain an understanding of music literacy through technology and traditional notation. Performance tasks are creative, using apps such as Mixound and GarageBand instead of traditional solo performance. In addition, they will study AMEB Grade 1 Music Theory skills required to understand the fundamentals of composition. Year 8 Music is ideal for students who enjoy performing and want to develop these skills in a fun and engaging class environment.
